  Melanie pulled the blanket over her and Jared, ducking down so her head didn’t stick up. “I know,” she whispered to Jared, “I just don’t know when I’ll be able to get any.” Here, under the blanket with Jared, Mel was warm and toasty. She snuggled closer to Jared as Wanda took the van to the highway.
By the time the van rolled to a stop, Mel’s head was resting on Jared, her eyes closed, although she was struggling to stay awake. “Any sign of humans on you're side?” Mel’s eyes snapped open. Seekers. She swore in her head, feeling much more awake now. Through Wanda’s open door, the Seekers voices floated into the car clearly. “You found some?....Their dead? How long?...Oh then these aren't the one's where looking for.” Melanie didn’t realize she was holding her breath until the Seeker’s “oh”. First it sounded as if they found one of their human friends, then as if one of their friends was dead. She was relieved to hear they were still safe, though.
But, wait. Wes and Walter were buried near the caves. It was possible those were the human’s the Seeker was talking about. Then again, no need to jump to conclusions. Still…Melanie looked up worriedly at Jared. Should they go back?

Jared rubbed Mel's arm as she rested on him, in a state between slumber and awareness. He stared at the roof and felt the car roll to a stop. He kissed Mel's forehead and tensed when the Seeker started talking. His grip around Mel tightened and kept her pressed against him. "Stay. Wanda will get us out as soon as the Seeker leaves." He whispered kissing her head.

Wanda inched quietly around so she was crouching behind the soul. If he turned around and saw the van she'd have to convince them about something. Standing up she put on a frightened face. "Seeker! I saw some humans on the mountains, th-they where coming after me but I got in my van and drove away," The Seeker turned around immeditatly and patted Wanda's shoulder. "Calm down, tell me where you saw them." Wanda started to look around and pointed towards the opposite side of the Mountain. The Seeker nodded and pointed to the van.
"Please go home and lock you're doors." He said before putting the infor into the raido. Wanda raced back to the van looking terrifed and locked the door. She pulled onto the highway and drove towards Tuscon before pulling a U-turn and driving towards Phenoix.

Jared shook his head, before letting an audible reply slip from him. "No way. Seekers wouldn't be poking around in the dirt for bodies..." He then lowered his pitch and whispered into Mel's ear. "It may have been some of the bodies where Doc failed to bring them back." He said before placing his hand on Mel's face and stroking his thumb along her cheek bone.

Wanda nodded her head at the fact that Jaredd said. "They wouldn't go digging in the dirt, they aren't that suspicious. It may have been from another group putting the ones who died. May have been Nate's group or Max's group since Russel's group haven't anyone who has died recently." Wanda explained turning on the radio and putting in a CD that would make it seem if she was singing along to a song. Until Jared and Mel decided to come out from their blanket.

Jared chuckled and adjusted so he was peering over the seats. "Wanda, what are you listening to?" He asked at the mellow tone of the song she was listening to. He was use to songs that had everyone wanting to belt out the lyrics and start goofing off to. He looked at Mel and raised an eyebrow. "Even if there where cars around would you not take the chance to sit in the front before I get there?"

Wanda looked in her mirrors and scanned the area. "It's clear, no one likes to take the chance to drive through the desert anymore. Most take the shuttle." She said before giggling at Jared's bored tone when he asked her what the song was. "It's called Soul meets Body. It was a human song but we kept it since it sounded nice." Wanda explained hoping he wouldn't go into talking about music. She didn't want to give an explanation to what kind of music they where allowed to listen to and which music was illegal.
