Jared walked into the kitchen, sweat covered his body from working in the fields. The smell of garlic and pasta filled the air. There wasn't many people here. Just the few girls that where making Supper and people who where drawn to the kitchen by the delicous smell. He went and sat down at a table where they usually sat and leaned back. The rest still had to get there, Jamie would come first, then Mel, then Ian and Wanda, then Kyle and Sunny.
His fingers drummed on the plastic table Wanda had managed to get on one of her many raids. His other hand had his chin rested on it. The sound of chattering from the girls and the pans took up most of the silence in the room.

Wanda chatted away with the other girls in the kitchen as she cut the garlic bread. It was a special treat for being in Pet's body. Not that she was proud of being a parasite for another year, it was more of a celebration for the others who liked her. She put the bread into a large basket with paper towels to obsorb all the excess oil. She helped pour the pasta sauce onto the pasta and stirred.
She noted Jared coming in and her heart jumped a bit, before her brain registered that she didn't feel that way towards Jared. Her fingers quickly added some herbs to the pasta before grabbing some bowls and forks and setting up the middle counter. The girls on kitchen duty grabbed their bowls and went chattering to a nearby table. Wanda grabbed a bowl for herself and Jared and walked over to the table and handed him a bowl before sitting down.
"How was the fields." She whispered and looked towards the entry way, waiting for Ian.

Jared watched as the girls finished up the Spagetti and served themselves. He noted how Wanda got two bowls. Must be for Jamie or Ian. He thought, getting ready to stand up when she came over and placed a bowl infront of him. O...kay? He picked up his fork and thanked her.
He started eating as she turned to look at the door and asked him a question. He paused and shrugged. "It was like every other day. Hard straining work in blistering heat." Jared explained before smirking. "How was kitchen duty." He asked her, before looking back at the kitchen and slipping away and got four pieces of garlic bread. Three for him and one for her, after all Wanda did get him pasta.

Wanda looked back as she saw Jared place down the garlic bread beside. A soft blush heated up her cheeks before thanked him. "I like making supper." She unoffically answered the question. Instead going back to eating her pasta. She didn't want to tell Jared that she was helping them patrol today, and that once Ian fell asleep that she was going on another outside patrol.
A lot didn't know about her frequent patrols, not even Jeb. She'd sneak out with Kyle and Aaron. Wanda had convinced them that if a Seeker came by that she'd convice said Seeker that she was camping and was heading back down to get something. If the Seeker told her to head down and stay down because of danger, she would take a different route back up. She looked back at Jared and let a weak smile before biting a piece of her garlic bread.

Jared looked at Wanda from the corner of his eye, he could tell she was avoiding the subject. "That's not what I asked you." He said, trying to force the truth out of her by making her uncomfertable. If Mel or Ian where there, he would have been hit or slapped for doing this. They weren't though; and if they where they would still be asking the same thing but making the words seem kinder.

Wanda shuffled in her seat and continued to eat. Under his heavy gaze, a blush started to creep onto her cheeks. "I-I know that's not what you asked. I-I'm saying that I like to w-work in teh kitchen." She muttered, her eyes going back to the entrance of the kitchen. Hoping someone would come in so she could be distracted from Jared.
If she told him. Then he'd tell Ian or Jeb and she'd be stuck in her room during the night by Ian's heavy gaze. And stuck to Ian's hip during the day. They would yell at her for being so careless. Even if it's what she wanted to do, she knew they wouldn't care.

Jared instantly knew she was uncomfertable when she started shifting around and glancing between the entrance and her food. The perfect time to guilt her into telling him. "Okay, Wanda. If you won't tell me what's making you feel guilty. Then I'm sure Ian would love to hear it." He said before tilting his head towards the entrance. "I think I hear Ian now. I'll go tell him you have something to tell him." He said. placing down his garlic bread and making a big show about getting out of his chair.

Wanda's head snapped towards him and grabbed his arm. "Please. Don't tell him, he'd worry if I lie to him." She said before catching onto the mistake as soon as it left her mouth. Her fingers relised his arm and she looked at her half full spaggetti bowl. "Never mind. I'm tired. If Ian comes in just tell him that I'll see him tonight." She muttered looking down and picking up her plate and going back to the kitchen.

Jared walked after her. His plate left half eaten on the table. "Hey Wanda. Don't be upset." He mumbled as they got into the kitchen. He ran a hand through his hair and stood in between her and the exit. "Tell me what you did today." He insisted, crossing his arms before figuring that was to menacing for Wanda and dropped them back down to his sides and lookd at her. "If you're that afriad to tell Ian I won't I swear...I swear on my body staying human." He had diffuculty saying that since he didn't mean it.
