Anne walked into the river room. She was assigned to make soap today. She flipped her hair behind her shoulder and looked around. There where materials to make the soap laying on the ground by the baths door. Cursing the started poking around in it. Why doesn't Wanda just pick up soap? She thought before shrugging. Her eyes glanced around, she was early since no one else was there, usually two or three people tops helped. Sitting down on the stone she thought about why they had to make soap in the bathroom. It was the best place really. There was an extremely hot river that they could get water from to heat and make the soap. There was access to water in case they get burned badly by the water or soap. Anne sighed, she'd rather be helping with the fields then making soap.

--- You won't cry for my absence, I know - ,. ( You forgot me long ago. ) Wanda walked down the halls from the kitchen. She'd just finished breakfast since she woke up late. Ian had let her sleep in, which she'd get on him about later. Her feet made a pit pat sound instead of the sound that her older bodies which made a slapping noise.
Wanda turned into the rivers and was welcomed by a thick fog like mist. She made a waving motion with her hands and most of the fog cleared, letting her view who she was going to work with. "Oh! Hello Anne! Are you going to be working on the soap also?" She asked, smiling at the older girl and walking over and looking around, checking if anyone else was in the baths that were going to be helping them. She didn't really know Anne, so she wasn't really that comfortable with her.

Melanie yawned as she walked along the long tunnel to the river room. She had stayed up too late thinking and gotten up to early. Then she had been unable to get back to sleep, so she had offered to help with the breakfast preparation. Through most of the morning she had felt perfectly fine and wide awake. Now her minimal sleep was catching up to her, though.
Steam greeted her as she entered the river room. It billowed out like clouds escaping from prison. Like a marshmallow released from its gram cracker binds. Like…she was too tired to think of any more awful metaphors. "Oh! Hello Anne! Are you going to be working on the soap also?" Wanda. Without even seeing them Mel knew who her companions for todays oh so wonderful activities were. Finally, the mist cleared and Mel saw the other girls beside the stream clearly.
"Alrighty" Melanie said, rubbing her hands together. She might as well relish the feeling while she could—she would not be rubbing her hands together after this. "Let’s do this."

Anne smiled up at Wanda "Yes I will." She said before waving to Mel. She stood up dusting off her pants and hands. Looking at them. "Good bye clean non burning hands." She mumbled before picking up the container of stuff needed for the soap and placed it down in between the four of them. "How come Jeb makes us make soap if he could ask you guys to pick up soap the next time you go out on a raid?" She sighed and started to separate the ingredients and materials. Picking up the large metal bowl she looked at it before walking over and collecting the hot water. She hissed as some water splattered against the pot and hit her hand. It was a slight pinch before it cooled down. She brought it back and sat on the dirt, grabbing the instructions written in Jeb's messy handwriting. There where dirt smudges and grease smears. She read it out loud "The oil or fat is heated gently. Lye and water are combined separately. When both ingredients reach the required temperature, they are combined. When the mixture becomes the desired consistency, it is poured into a mould. The bars are then removed from the mould after setting up (approximately 24 to 48 hours). They are restacked and allowed to “cure” or dry until hard. This can take anywhere from 3 weeks. " She stopped and looked at it. "So we basically burn out hands off to get soap in three weeks?" She sighed before shrugging and grabbing the moulds and lining the up.
Notes: I've made soap before...never. again.

( You forgot me long ago. ) Wanda lowered herself to the ground and poured the lye and water into one can then poured the oil into another. She then picked both up and put them in the metal bucket full of hot water. Sitting down she sighed. "Watch out for the splatters. If only Ian hadn't broken the lid."
She warned them, sitting a comfertable distant away from the bucket and smiled up at Mel. "Remember when Jeb thought it would be best if Kyle, Jared and Ian worked on soap duty for a week because they had been rough housing in the fields?" She giggled at the memory of Ian looking so depressed at the fact. tagged Melanie/Anne words too lazy to count notes I wonder what cactus soap tastes like? "How come Jeb makes us make soap if he could ask you guys to pick up soap the next time you go out on a raid?" Melanie nodded. She wouldn’t mind not having to make this soap. "Sometimes we do get it, but usually…It’s just because it’s one thing less to remember, one thing less to carry. We make it so there’s less for us to need to get" Melanie scooted away from Wanda’s preparations. She had been burnt once before from splattering soap-water and it was not an experience she ever wanted to repeat. ” Watch out for the splatters.” The first time Mel had heard that warning, it had been too late for her. Now she took no chances. "Remember when Jeb thought it would be best if Kyle, Jared and Ian worked on soap duty for a week because they had been rough housing in the fields?" Melanie chuckled. It may have been bad for them now, but it had been pretty funny when it happened. “Didn’t Ian throw the bucket at his brother, it hit Kyles head, and now we have no more lid?” She paused for a moment to reflect, and put her arm around Wanda. “Their hands were raw for so long after that. Good times.” Mel grinned

Anne smiled at the two. Smiling bigger when she heard Ian being added to the topic of the conversation. She didn't really want to butt into the conversation, since either girl wasn't a close friend to her's, nor did they know that she had a crush on Ian. Anne ran her fingers through her hair breifly, pulling on the notes and tangles making it smooth again. She looked at Wanda. Why does Ian have to like Wanda? Not to be mean or anything, but I'm closer to his age then she is. I'm stronger and pull my weight around more. She's too polite and needs help doing her chores. Anne thought bitterly, letting her emotion slip through onto her face for a moment before pretending to check on the oils. After a few moments she looked at Wanda and Mel. "Kyle gets hit in the head a lot doesn't he?"
Notes: If this was a clip montage moment of kyle being hit in the head I would laugh.

--- You won't cry for my absence, I know - ,. ( You forgot me long ago. ) Wanda nodded at Melanie. "Then Kyle said something that made Jared dump hot water on Kyle's bare feet."
She giggled at the thought, usually she didn't condone violence. And most defiantly didn't giggle at it. It was Kyle though. He got hit in the head alot. Wanda smiled towards Anne. "He does. Like during soccer. Ian shot the ball straight at his head when he called an insult to his team about having the strength of a soul." She frowned at that and had a quick glimpse of pouring the water onto Kyle's face for saying that. Soul's were strong enough to tear up a human's mind and muscles. If scared and damaged out of their hosts, they can tear through human flesh. She shivered at the thought. tagged Melanie/Anne words too lazy to count notes I wonder what cactus soap tastes like? [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Melanie was watching Anne watch Wanda when a strange emotion slipped onto her face. What was that? Anger? Jealousy? Why would Anne not like Wanda? But then it was gone, as if it had never been there. Mel looked away quickly so Anne wouldn’t see she had been watching "Kyle gets hit in the head a lot doesn't he?" Mel had to smile slightly at that. "He does. Like during soccer. Ian shot the ball straight at his head when he called an insult to his team about having the strength of a soul." Mel nodded. “Plus, people punch him a lot more. Just compare his bend nose to Ian’s straight one."

Anne smiled and got lost in thinking of Ian's face before accidently replying "I do." It took her a moment to figure out what she had just said and what she replied to. She quickly lifted the two cans out of the water with the metal grabbers and placed them in front of another bucket and quickly poured them in. The mixed and started to already form together. She grabbed the wooden spoon and started to mix the two ingredients together.
